Nurse, 31, is entering his 13th NHL season with San Jose. Edmonton gets back Russian blueliner Shakir Mukhamadullin and Western Michigan’s Zach Sharp.

San Jose acquired defenseman Darnell Nurse from Edmonton on Wednesday, sending Shakir Mukhamadullin and Zach Sharp the other way. 


Nurse, 31, is set for his 13th NHL season and his first outside of Edmonton after spending all 12 years with the Oilers. The Hamilton native had 24 points on 7 goals and 17 assists in 82 games last year, his lowest offensive output since posting 11 points in 2016-17.




He also set a career high with 88 giveaways last season.


Mukhamadullin, 24, heads into year four. The Russian defenseman recorded 12 points in 50 games for San Jose last season while averaging a career-low 17:09 of ice time per game.


Sharp, 20, posted 5 goals and 14 assists for Western Michigan last year before Edmonton drafted him in the fourth round this year.
