Raphinha undergoes intensive treatment after first-half exit vs Haiti...
Brazil’s Raphinha will face “intensive treatment” for a right thigh muscle injury he picked up in their World Cup win over Haiti, the CBF confirmed Saturday.
The Barcelona winger came off in the first half during Friday’s match in Philadelphia.
The CBF didn’t give a timeline, but Globo Esporte says he could be back for a potential last-16 tie in two weeks.
“The player will undergo intensive treatment under the Brazil national team doctors to recover and return as quickly as possible,” the CBF said in a statement.
Raphinha also dealt with multiple right thigh problems throughout last season.
Carlo Ancelotti has options to replace Raphinha. Brazil’s coach could pick from teenage pair Endrick or Rayan, or go with Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
Brazil sit on four points from two Group C games. The five-time champions finish their group vs Scotland in Miami on Wednesday.
That Miami match could also mark Neymar’s return. The forward’s been out a month with a calf issue and hasn’t played for Brazil since October 2023.
