Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers has been named Europa League Player of the Season after helping his side to a 3-0 win over German club Freiburg in the final, UEFA announced on Thursday.

The 23-year-old England international capped a strong European campaign by scoring the third goal and providing an assist in Wednesday’s match in Istanbul. The win secured the trophy and ended a 30-year wait for silverware for the Premier League club.

Rogers was a key part of Villa’s run to the final. He scored against Salzburg and Bologna and added five assists during the campaign.
