Denmark secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Finland at the Parken Stadium, with goals from Kathrine Kuhl and Pernille Harder sealing the victory. This win builds on the 6-1 triumph in the first leg, giving Denmark a significant advantage in the Nations League Playoff clash.

The Danish victory ensures they remain among the top 16 teams in Europe, setting them up for a more favorable path to the 2027 World Cup in Brazil compared to Finland.

In the spring of 2026, Denmark will compete in the Nations League format, starting in a group stage with three other teams. The team that tops the group will advance directly to the World Cup. Meanwhile, the teams that finish second, third, and fourth will have a chance to qualify through a playoff system, competing in two rounds this autumn to secure a spot in the final round.

The first half at Parken Stadium was an entertaining affair, despite the lack of goals. Denmark dominated possession, keeping Finland pinned back in their own half with disciplined defending and intense pressure. The Danes came close to breaking the deadlock just 60 seconds into the match, but Janni Thomsen's effort, with the Finnish goalkeeper exposed, curled wide as she shot into the side netting.

The Danes' high-pressing tactics paid off in the second half, as they eventually found the breakthrough. Goals from Kathrine Kuhl and Pernille Harder secured a 2-0 win, building on the momentum built in the opening 45 minutes.

In the opening phase, Thomsen had two promising attempts on goal, but neither found its mark. The Danish team, while still dominant, lacked some of the clinical efficiency that characterized their 6-1 win in the first match.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 73rd minute when Kathrine Kuhl combined with Pernille Harder in the box, playing a neat one-two before slotting the ball into the net to give Denmark the lead.

Pernille Harder sealed the win with a penalty conversion five minutes from the end, doubling Denmark's lead and putting the icing on the cake.

Denmark's next challenge will come at the end of November, when they'll face Norway and other teams in a series of friendlies in Cadiz, Spain. The following week, the draw for World Cup qualification will take place, pitting Denmark against top teams like England, Spain, Germany, France, Sweden, and Norway, setting the stage for an intriguing qualification campaign.
