Senator Ahmed Makarfi Mourns Loss of First Son

Nigeria Mourns Loss of Faisal Makarfi, Senator's Son

“Faisal was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was declared dead...”

Senator Ahmed Makarfi's son, Faisal, dies in car accident on Kaduna-Zaria expressway. Faisal had a promising academic future, with degrees from University of Greenwich.

Tragedy has struck the family of Senator Ahmed Makarfi, a former Governor of Kaduna State, as his first son, Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has lost his life in a fatal car accident. The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, October 12, along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway, according to a family source who wishes to remain anonymous.

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, a prominent Nigerian politician, has had a distinguished career, serving as Governor of Kaduna State from 1999 to 2007 and later as a Senator representing Kaduna North senatorial district. He was also the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. This devastating loss must be a tremendous blow to him and his family.

The Kaduna-Zaria expressway has claimed another life, highlighting concerns about road safety in Nigeria. The country's roads are often plagued by poor maintenance, reckless driving, and inadequate enforcement of traffic laws.

My thoughts are with Senator Makarfi and his family during this difficult time. May Faisal's soul rest in peace.

“The accident happened along the Kaduna-Zaria highway this evening. Faisal was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was declared dead. His father was at the hospital, and the body has been taken home for burial arrangements,” the source said.

Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the late son of Senator Ahmed Makarfi, had a distinguished academic background. He began his educational journey at Kaduna International School, followed by secondary studies at Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State.

Faisal then pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, earning both his undergraduate and master's degrees from the prestigious University of Greenwich in London. He had also commenced his PhD studies at the same institution, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence.
