Heat kills at least 15 people in India as temperatures exceed 50C 



As temperatures in northern and central India continue to rise, several individuals have passed away from heat-related illnesses in the last 24 hours.


According to officials who spoke with the Reuters news agency on Thursday, ten deaths were reported at the government hospital in the Rourkela region of Odisha.

Heat strokes have a 40–64% fatality rate, according to India's National Centre for Disease Control, making them a “life-threatening” disease.
