Israeli Forces Strike Gaza's Al-Shita Hospital

Patients and workers at Gaza's al-Shifa hospital are in a state of terror following an overnight attack by Israeli forces.

The BBC reported that there was active use of armored tanks and heavy gunfire at the location.

The operation is directed at senior Hamas militants who are allegedly utilizing the facility for attacks, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF asked Hamas to surrender and declared that the hospital will continue to operate throughout the operation.

“Senior Hamas terrorists have regrouped inside the hospital and are using it to launch attacks,” the IDF said.

“Tanks are surrounding us. We are hiding inside the tent. We hear tank fire in the vicinity of the compound.

“The soldiers here inside the complex. There are dead and wounded, and the soldiers arrested some young men. The situation here is catastrophic,” an eyewitness said.

Humanitarian organizations have denounced this move, claiming that the raid violated international law.

Israel has consistently charged Hamas with using medical facilities to conduct its activities; the Iranian-backed organization has angrily refuted this accusation.

According to IDF claims, during a raid in November 2023, they found weapons and a network of tunnels beneath Al-Shifa Hospital.

The Israeli army allegedly imprisoned, blinded, and mistreated doctors at Nasser Hospital during an invasion in February.

Lord Cameron, the foreign secretary of the United Kingdom, demanded an explanation from Israeli authorities after these instances.
