Economic Hardship: Police In Lagos Seal NLC Office, Labour Union To Stop Protests Across Country [PHOTOS]

The Nigeria Police Force has sealed the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) office in Lagos State to prevent the planned nationwide protest against hunger and hardship in the country. An activist and national coordinator of the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), Hasssan Taiwo revealed this on Monday morning via his X handle.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) office in Lagos State has been sealed off by the Nigeria Police Force in an attempt to thwart the anticipated nationwide demonstration against destitution and hunger.

A photo of armed police officers stationed in front of the NLC headquarters in Yaba, Lagos was shared by activist Hassan Taiwo.

The NLC announced the protest, which is set for February 27 and 28, in response to the government's 14-day ultimatum regarding the nation's economic problems.

The Attorney General of the Federation and the Department of State Services (DSS) cautioned that there could be chaos and urged the NLC to call off the protest.

Further, if the protest continued, the government threatened to hold the NLC in contempt of court.
