The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State

Abdullahi Sule's election as governor of Nasarawa State has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

The governor was removed from office by the state election petition tribunal, which also proclaimed Peoples Democratic Party candidate David Ombugadu the victor of the March 18, 2023 election.

However, the appeal court upheld Sule's reinstatement and declared that the tribunal had erroneously depended on the testimony of eight PDP witnesses, whose sworn declarations had not been front-loaded with the petition.

After reviewing the primary ruling, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun determined that the appeal was not justified.

As a result of this court judgement, tension has hit the capital city of Lafia as people can be seen protesting in the streets

Reports have it that there have been multiple road blocks in the state as the Nigeria police is trying to abate the situation

A nude was reportedly shot at as the police moves in.
