Four health care assistants have been jailed after they were caught on camera abusing and ill-treating an elderly woman in their care

Four Nigerian healthcare professionals who were seen on camera abusing an 89-year-old patient physically and psychologically have been imprisoned in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

According to the BBC, the elderly patient was at a care facility in Wolverhampton. She had vascular dementia and was mute.

The family had noticed bruising on the woman's arm after she had been in the home for a year while she had also become nervous and was scared to be touched.

The victim's family allegedly covertly installed a camera in February 2020 and secretly recorded video over the course of four days, according to the police.

According to West Midlands Police, it showed the woman being treated disrespectfully, hit with a pillow, and roughly handled.
