Fubara says his mandate is to defend rivers people, as 10 pro-wike commissioners resign

Ten commissioners have stepped down from Rivers State Governor Mr. Siminalayi Fubara's cabinet as the ongoing dispute between the two men intensifies. Wike is the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Chukwuemeka Woke (Special Duties), Alabo George-Kelly (Works), Isaac Kamalu (Finance), Inime Chinwenwo Aguma (Social Welfare and Rehabilitation), Zaccheaus Adangor (Justice), and Chinedu Mmom (Education) are among the commissioners who have resigned thus far.

The others are Austin Ben-Chioma (Environment), Gift Worlu (Housing), Jacobson Nbina (Transport), and Commissioner of the Bureau of Public Procurement.

According to reports, Wike nominated the Commissioners, who were cabinet members of his administration that he forced on Fubara.

It is thought that Wike ordered the resignation of the ten commissioners.

This is allegedly the case even though Fubara has ordered the resignation or expulsion of every cabinet member that Wike has nominated.
