TIWA SAVAGE WILL SING AT KING CHARLES III'S CORONATION
Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian singer, has been chosen to play at the coronation of the United Kingdom's king, King Charles III.
The historic event will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Westminster Abbey in London.
According to sources, Tiwa Savage will perform with superstars like as Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang, Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs at the coronation concert and Big Lunch on Sunday, May 7,2023.
The coronation comes after Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III's mother, died.
Tiwa Savage's invitation to sing at the coronation marks a landmark moment in Nigerian music history, as she is the first Nigerian musician to receive such an honor.
Tiwa Savage makes her acting debut in Ghana. CAF Awards 2022 will include Davido and Tiwa Savage.
The organizers revealed in a statement that Tiwa Savage was chosen as one of the few African artists to play at the historic coronation concert. "We are thrilled to announce that Tiwa Savage, along with other world-class musicians, will perform at the coronation concert." Tiwa Savage is a remarkable performer with a distinct blend of African and Western sounds," according to the statement.
In response to the news, Tiwa Savage stated, "It's truly an honor to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historic event." I'm looking forward to taking part in the festivities and introducing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!" The performance, produced by BBC Studios Productions, will feature performers such as Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood, Lang Lang, and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as video messages from Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, and Sir Tom Jones.
