Osun Guber: In Response To The Supreme Court's Ruling, Buhari
In response to the Supreme Court's ruling regarding the Osun State governor election scheduled for July 16, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari issued a statement.
According to prior reports, the state's election of Ademola Adeleke, a member of the People's Democratic Party, as governor was upheld by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Adegboyega Oyetola, the former governor who challenged Adeleke's victory, was found to have relied entirely on hearsay for all of his charges against the election, according to Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, who handed down the ruling.
President Buhari responded by saying that following the court's final ruling, the political establishment and those who support it should be reminded that the "main task at hand is to make the people feel the impact of good governance, where a prosperous, peaceful, and stable Osun is guaranteed."
The president urged all inhabitants and residents of the state to support Adeleke fully in order to "ensure that programmes, policies, plans, and aspirations fashioned to make individuals and businesses flourish succeed." This was stated in a statement released by his spokesman, Femi Adesina.
Buhari said: "Elections should be seen as the path to an end, which is the progress of the people in a peaceful environment, rather than unending bickering. This is the time for inclusion and harmony in the state at the end of litigation."
