Arteta Is Warn By An Arsenal Icon Before Signing An England World Cup hero

Manager Mikel Arteta has received a warning from Arsenal veteran Gilberto Silva not to overpay for West Ham captain Declan Rice this summer.

Rice is a terrific player, according to Silva, but Arsenal and Arteta should think twice before making a large investment in the midfielder.

He stated that he is not sure Arteta will need to reinforce Rice's position initially this summer.

The Brazilian said about Rice, "Normally, you see this sort of price for strikers, not central midfielders. It feels quite high, even though there is no doubting the quality of the player (Rice). but it does feel like a very high price.

"There have been some rumours about Arsenal before, but they seem to be increasing again. I am not 100% convinced this is the first position Mikel Arteta is going to strengthen first, but he (Rice) is a really strong candidate. He has done so well at West Ham (United)."
