TINUBU ADORES BORNO AND ZULUM, I PRAYED FOR SHETTIMA TO BECOME VP

Borno Governor Babagana Zulum stated on Friday his long-held desire for Vice President-elect Senator Kashim Shettima.

Zulum made the remark while hosting the legislator at the Government House in Maiduguri for a Sallah meal. to make the obstacles easier.

Shettima, a former commissioner and two-term governor, represents Borno Central in the National Assembly.

Zulum said he would miss President Muhammadu Buhari's overwhelming support but is relieved that President-elect Bola Tinubu and Shettima are stepping in.

The governor described the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February election as a huge relief for him and his government.

"Senator Shettima is sitting in our midst as the Vice President-elect waiting to be sworn in. It has been one of my prayers since I was sworn in in 2019.

"Insha Allah, in the next four years, I have with me a brother and a boss that will support me, the government and the people."

Zulum expressed optimism about the next federal government, adding Tinubu "loves Borno State and understands our plight."

President Buhari has openly expressed his respect for Zulum on numerous occasions, citing him as a "role model" for other leaders to emulate.
