Interim National Government (ING) supporters have come under fire from PDP senator Chimaroke Nnamani, who called them treasonous and an insult to Nigerians' sensitivities.
Nnamani stated that ING was nonsensical and had no place in contemporary democratic leadership in a statement made on Thursday in Abuja.
He added that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president, would be sworn in on May 29 and described those responsible for the conspiracy as enemies of Nigeria.
He stated: "The presidential election has been conducted and a winner has been declared.
"Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, Interim government is a needless distraction.
"Asiwaju will be sworn in on May 29, and he will hit the ground running."
Nnamani expressed hope that a Tinubu-led administration will handle issues including girl child difficulties, key infrastructure development, young unemployment, and women's empowerment.
