1. Only 28 of the 36 states in the federation are holding governorship elections today, whereas the House of Assembly election will take place in all 36 states today. There are off-season elections in eight more states: Osun, Ekiti, Kogi, Bayelsa, Anambra, Edo, Ondo, and Imo.
2. A 53-year-old woman who was discovered in possession of laminated election materials is currently being held, according to the Lagos State Police Command. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesman, confirmed this on Friday.
3. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has raised an alarm over fake identity cards for security personnel on election duty. The warning was issued in a statement on Friday night by Mr. Fesus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairperson, Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been tasked by the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group Afenifere to ensure that there are appreciable improvements made during today's governorship and House of Assembly elections in the areas where shortcomings were found during the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 25 of last month.

Johnson Alalibo, the state's resident electoral commissioner, however, told reporters that the development would not have an impact on the election.
9. An appeal by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sunday J. Ubua, a friend of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, asking to be admitted to bail, was dismissed by the Court of Appeal in Abuja. A three-member panel of the appellate court ruled on Friday that Ubua's appeal was without merit.
10. The 1999 Constitution has been amended in various ways by 16 bills that President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law. This was announced on Friday by the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Special Ad Hoc Committee on the Revision of the 1999 Constitution.
