PAUL ENENCHE SENDS A MESSAGE TO NIGERIA JUDICIARY
Pastor Paul Enenche
"It's time to save Nigeria," Doctor Paul Enenche says
In recent election issues that have been brought before the Nigerian judiciary, Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, DIGC, has cautioned the institution against being corrupted.
The well-known man of God mentioned an instance in Malawi that was comparable to the alleged manipulation of the presidential election results by employees of the Independent National Election Commission, INEC.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Bola Tinubu won the recently ended presidential election, which was rejected by the opposition parties, most notably the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Labour Party.
The ruling party allegedly rigged the election through over-voting, theft of vote boxes, and other irregularities, according to the opposition parties.
In a statement he personally signed on Monday in response to the controversy surrounding the election results, Enenche remembered how an opposition party in Malawi was able to regain its mandate through the legal system following the ruling that an incumbent party had stolen the election.
In rendering a decision on the cases already brought by the retaliating political parties, he urged the Nigerian judiciary to act justly.
He said, "The judiciary in Nigeria has now before it, the choice to either compromise its values or consolidate justice. It is the choice of treading the path of probity and honour or sliding down the precipice of compromise and infamy.
"It is time to save Nigeria and set her on a path of electoral justice, peace and development, and we believe the judiciary will do the right thing.
"Like Malawi, the Nigeria judiciary now has the golden opportunity to etch its name in gold by ensuring that democracy remains the government of the people, by the people and for the people, and not an article up for sale to the highest bidder."
