ADOLPHUS WABARA, THE FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT, HAS BEEN APPOINTED CHAIR OF THE PDP BOT

Mr Wabara's appointment followed the resignation of Walid Jibrin, the former chairman of the BoT, on Thursday.

Adolphus Wabara, a former Senate President, has been named acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party's Board of Trustees (BoT) (PDP)

He was appointed at the Board's meeting on Thursday in Abuja.

His appointment followed the resignation of Walid Jibrin, the former chairman of the BoT, on Thursday.

According to MON DIARIES, Mr Jibrin announced his resignation to ensure victory for the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and to promote unity within the party.

Mr. Jibrin's resignation was also announced by the party's National Chairman, Lyorchia Ayu, at the start of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which began shortly after the BoT meeting.

"The chairman of the BoT resigned today. He has served us honorably... We thank him for his many years of service "He stated.

Mr Wabara was named acting chairman of the BoT at the NEC meeting.

Prior to his new position, the former senator was secretary of the PDP BOT. He would also be appointed to the PDP's presidential campaign council.
