AC Milan edge thriller against Atalanta as unbeaten home run continues...

AC Milan secured a third successive Serie A home victory for the first time in 2026, as the Rossoneri held off a spirited Atalanta fightback to win 3-2 at San Siro.

Coming into the contest on a three-match unbeaten run across all competitions (W2, D1), Milan made a confident start against La Dea.

Milan controlled the early possession and thought they had taken the lead in the 13th minute, but Christian Pulisic's powerful finish from close range was chalked off for a tight offside. Atalanta almost punished them moments later when Nikola Krstovic rounded Mike Maignan, only to fire into the side-netting.

Determined to capitalise on that let-off, Ruben Amorim's men earned a penalty in the 24th minute after Yunus Musah's strike was blocked by the arm of substitute Relja Obric.

Goncalo Ramos took responsibility from the spot and calmly sent Marco Carnesecchi the wrong way to double his Serie A tally for the season.

Having lost their last two away games in Serie A, La Dea pushed for an equaliser before the break, but it was Milan who doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute.

Diego Moreira found Adrien Rabiot in the box, and the Frenchman cut inside a defender before stroking a composed finish into the bottom corner.

The hosts looked to stretch their lead further early in the second half, with Samuel Chukwueze curling narrowly wide, while at the other end, Krstovic dragged a difficult chance off target.

Milan were awarded a second penalty of the night in the 56th minute after Thomas Kristensen was penalised for handball, but Carnesecchi expertly kept out Ramos' spot-kick.

It proved to be only a brief reprieve for the visitors, however, as the Rossoneri struck again a minute later when Mario Gila headed home at the back post after a clever flick-on from Rabiot.

La Dea hit back through Gianluca Gaetano's superb touch and finish inside the box, setting up a tense final 20 minutes at San Siro.

That tension increased with nine minutes left when Raoul Bellanova's cutback was clinically swept into the bottom corner by Krstovic.

With momentum firmly behind them, Atalanta almost completed a remarkable comeback two minutes later, but Maignan came to Milan's rescue to deny substitute Davide Zappacosta.
