Degerfors vs Kalmar: Visitors Strike Early

Degerfors had picked up four points against other sides who began the night in the bottom five in their last four matches, while Kalmar had been in freefall, losing five in a row and were without a win in nine in the league.

But the visitors got off to a perfect start, winning the ball in Degerfors' half wide on their left wing, before working it infield for Vilmer Tyren to thread it through for Marius Soderback, who coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner with just over two minutes on the clock.

That ended KFF's goal drought stretching back to August 9th, but just 15 minutes later they doubled their lead. Soderback turned provider this time, driving through the heart of the Degerfors half before finding Tyren on the right, who took a touch and rifled an effort past the keeper at the near post.

Degerfors pulled one back late in the first half with a superb team move, as Nahom Girmai exchanged passes with Dijan Vukojevic before firing a low 20-yard drive beyond the goalkeeper.

However, Degerfors failed to find an equaliser after the break. Kalmar looked more likely to add to the scoreline through Tyren and Abdussalam Magashy, but their two first-half goals proved enough for a vital victory that lifts them to 13th, two points clear of Degerfors, who are now winless in four.
