Feyenoord Battle Back to Beat Como and Secure First UCL Points
Feyenoord came from behind to defeat Como 3-2 in a pulsating Champions League encounter at De Kuip, with Anis Hadj Moussa inspiring a second-half turnaround to secure their first points of the campaign.
Hosts come from behind to win Champions League thriller...
Feyenoord fought back from a goal down to secure a hard-earned 3-2 victory over Como in the UEFA Champions League, extending their unbeaten run at De Kuip to 13 matches (W9, D4).
Buoyed by three straight wins since their heavy matchday one loss to Barcelona, Feyenoord hosted a Como side looking to steady themselves after back-to-back games without a win - their first such run since mid-April under Cesc Fabregas.
It was a frantic start in Rotterdam, and it was Como who struck first as their early pressure was rewarded just beyond the quarter-hour mark.
Fabregas' side transitioned from defence to attack superbly, with Jacobo carving open the home defence to release Assane Diao down the right, and the winger still had plenty to do before cutting inside and firing home.
The hosts hit back superbly and were only behind for just over two minutes, striking straight from the restart after a neat spell of possession ended with a moment of brilliance.
Luciano Valente found Gjivai Zechiel 20 yards out, and with his back to goal, the midfielder took the ball in his stride, turned sharply and drilled a precise finish into the bottom-left corner - his sixth of the season and his first in the Champions League.
Things went from bad to worse for Como when goalscorer Diao was forced off with an injury midway through the first half. Chances continued at both ends before the break, with Martin Baturina seeing a long-range effort parried away, before Givairo Read was also denied from distance.
Feyenoord kept pushing until the half-time whistle, with the final action of the half seeing Robert Sanchez tip Javi Lopez's looping header over the crossbar.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side resumed just as they had finished the first half and completed the comeback within seven minutes of the restart.
Introduced at half-time, Gaoussou Diarra switched play from left to right to find Anis Hadj Moussa, who cut inside and rifled his finish past a helpless Sanchez, who may feel he should have done better at his near post.
Fabregas turned to his bench after a sluggish start to the second half from his side, and Anastasios Douvikas should have levelled on the hour when found unmarked in the box, only to head well over.
An already frustrating night for Sanchez got worse in the 82nd minute with an own goal, as Hadj Moussa's 25-yard strike hit the post before rebounding off the Como keeper's back and into the net.
The visitors did pull one back in stoppage time when Douvikas made amends by firing home after a defensive error from the hosts, but it proved too little, too late.
A flat second-half display condemned Como to a second defeat in their last three games in all competitions (D1), and with Manchester United heading to Lombardy next week, the task does not get any easier.

For Feyenoord, a fourth consecutive victory and their first points of this Champions League campaign marks just their second win in eight meetings with Italian opposition (D3, L3).
