Barcelona have been dealt a major blow ahead of El Clasico as Dani Olmo is ruled out for around a month with a thigh injury picked up in Tuesday's 4-2 Champions League loss to PSG, sidelining him for the Real Madrid clash and key upcoming fixtures.

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo will miss Sunday's El Clasico against Real Madrid after being sidelined for around a month with an injury sustained against PSG.

“Tests have confirmed that Dani Olmo is suffering an injury to his left thigh,” Spanish champions Barcelona said in a statement, confirming he will be out for “approximately one month.”

The Spain international was forced off injured during Barca's 4-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital on Tuesday.

In addition to the visit of Real Madrid to Camp Nou, Olmo is expected to miss league matches against Alaves and Atletico Madrid, as well as the Champions League clash with Aston Villa.

Olmo is also likely to miss Spain's Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and England on November 12 and 15 respectively.

The 28-year-old, who joined Barca from RB Leipzig in 2024, has struggled with frequent injuries throughout his career.
