Barcelona to Complain to UEFA Over PSG Fans' Leatherface-Inspired Tifo
Barcelona will report PSG to UEFA over giant 'Leatherface'-inspired tifo that showed their iconic logo being destroyed with a chainsaw before Champions League tie.
Barcelona to report formal complaint to UEFA over PSG's 'aggressive' tifo...
Barcelona plan to lodge a formal complaint over what they have described as an “aggressive and offensive” tifo displayed by Paris Saint-Germain supporters.
The Catalan club are reportedly set to submit an official complaint to UEFA about the tifo unveiled by Paris Saint-Germain fans ahead of their Champions League matchday three encounter at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.
Fans behind one of the goals revealed a massive curtain-style display depicting a masked figure wearing a PSG shirt using a chainsaw to destroy the iconic Barcelona crest, with the message "Massacre, Parisian style" written above.
The image appears to have taken inspiration from 'Leatherface' from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, a sadistic and deranged cannibal who kills his unsuspecting victims with a chainsaw and makes masks from their skin.
Unveiled just moments before another entertaining clash between the two sides got underway, fireworks burst through the banner to mimic sparks flying from the chainsaw.
Both Spanish outlet SPORT and ESPN reported late on Tuesday that sources inside Barcelona were far from happy with the tifo, with one describing it as “overly aggressive and offensive.”
The two clubs have been fierce rivals for the official and unofficial crowns of Europe's best and biggest team this decade, serving up no shortage of thrilling Champions League encounters in recent years.

PSG and Barcelona have now faced each other eight times in the Champions League in the past decade, scoring 37 goals between them, with the French side winning five of those meetings including the last three in a row.
Both clubs sit joint top of the Champions League table alongside Liverpool after netting 14 goals across their three wins, while Barcelona were fifth at the end of Tuesday's fixtures but are expected to drop down the standings once Wednesday evening's games are completed.
