The 55-cap Dutch international has set his sights on a move to Serie A, with AC Milan, Juventus, and Roma all reportedly interested in signing the defender.
While Dutch champions PSV had been keen on bringing Ake back to the Eredivisie, a return to the Netherlands now looks highly unlikely.
During his six years at Manchester City, Ake has won 11 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
