‘We Want It All': Freiburg Chase First Title After UEL Run
Freiburg reach Europa League and DFB Pokal semi-finals. Sporting director Jochen Saier says the squad feels this could be a 'special year' for a first title.
'Now we want it all' says Freiburg dreaming of first title in club history...
Freiburg keep writing their own fairytale. After a successful second leg against Celta Vigo in the quarter-finals, the German side have reached the Europa League semi-finals. For sporting director Jochen Saier, this run isn’t a fluke, but it’s still a moment to stop and take stock.
“This is something extraordinary, something incredible. When I think about how our season began, how far we’ve come, and the level we’re playing at every three days now, it’s truly impressive,” Saier said right after securing a semi-final spot.

Can Freiburg storm to their first title?
With a semi-final place locked in, the question is obvious: Can Freiburg actually win the first title in the club’s history?
While people in the Breisgau region are usually known for staying grounded, the hunger for more is now unmistakable.
Now, as Saier put it, “the journey continues” and “now we want it all.”
He also gave special praise to coach Julian Schuster: “Julian is doing an outstanding job with the group. Concede an early goal in the first 10 minutes, with the atmosphere here, and then things can really get out of hand.”
Asked about the chance of winning the title, Saier dodged a direct answer but made the team’s ambition clear: “When you’re where we are, you obviously want to push on and achieve the maximum.”
