A recently approved law will allow Madagascar to surgically castrate pedophiles

Madagascar's parliament has approved a new law which will see paedophiles surgically castrated for their crimes.

According to report, a recently passed law by Madagascar's parliament will now result in the surgical castration of pedophiles.

Per the report, individuals found guilty of sexually abducting a child under the age of ten will receive a life sentence and undergo surgical castration if found guilty under the new law.

If the victim is between the ages of 10 and 13, they will instead be chemically castrated and forced to work for 15–20 years. However, if the rapist is also a minor, castration will not be necessary

The legislation was approved by the parliament on February 2, 2024, following its proposal last month by President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar.
