Rivers Lawmakers Withdraw Impeachment Notice Against Fubara
The Rivers State House of Assembly has withdrawn the impeachment against Governor Siminalayi Fubara
The notice of impeachment that was previously sent to Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been withdrawn by members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
On Wednesday, the legislators formally started their sessions in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
During their discussions, the lawmakers convened exclusively to discuss the removal of the notice of Fubara's impeachment.
This comes after a truce was mediated during a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the warring parties on Monday in the Aso Villa in Abuja.
“We will not proceed with this impeachment process, due to respect for President Tinubu,” Factional Speaker Hon. Martins Amaewhule said.
