Tinubu names Rinsola, the late MKO Abiola's daughter as special assistant

Rinsola Abiola, the daughter of the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, has been named Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Rinsola announced this on Thursday, November 9, 2023, through a republished message on X, formerly known as Twitter.

She will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Youth's leadership, per the post.

Abiola works in public relations and supports gender equality and youth. At the nexus of politics and civil society, she works to advance political literacy and civic education while advocating for greater participation of marginalized groups in governance and decision-making.

As a trailblazing member of the APC's women's and youth wings, Rinsola is an engaged party member. In addition, she founded the party's young women's movement and was chosen in 2015 as one of the three youth delegates to the board of trustees.

She created history in 2022 by being the first female candidate for the APC National Youth Leader post, continuing her consistent fight for young women to be fully acknowledged as equal players in the political youth movement.

Rinsola, on the other hand, is Abiola's second child to be appointed by Tinubu since taking office in May 2023.

September 2023 saw the appointment of Jamiu Abiola as a Special Assistant (SA) with special duties.

Abiola, who holds a degree from New York University in the United States, has been assigned by Vice President Kassim Shettima's office to help the Tinubu-led administration of Nigeria fulfill the commitments made to voters in the 2023 presidential election.

Being multilingual, Jamiu Abiola also has postgraduate degrees from New York University, where she specialized in translating languages into English, including Arabic, French, Spanish, and German.

Abiola speaks French, Portuguese, Yoruba, Hausa, Japanese, Igbo, Fulani, and Kanuri fluently in addition to these languages.
