Governor Akeredolu Currently On His Way To Nigeria From Germany After 3-month Medical Leave

After a three-month medical break overseas, Ondo Gov. Akeredolu returns to Nigeria

After a three-month medical journey overseas, Rotimi Akeredolu, the executive governor of Ondo State, has returned to Nigeria.

On September 7, Akeredolu, who had travelled to Germany for medical treatment after becoming ill in June, landed at his home in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to reports, he has asked key party leaders and members of the state Executive Council to meet with him at his home in Ibadan on Friday.

Akeredolu is anticipated to receive a briefing from the members of his cabinet, who would be led by Lucky Ayedatiwa, the interim governor.

According to sources, the governor would spend a few weeks in Ibadan before returning fully to work.

Recall that on July 15, the governor said that Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, should lead the state in a "acting capacity" until he returned and was given the all-clear by his physicians.
