Tinubu and Kwankwaso meet in France, prepared to join Tinubu's cabinet
It has been claimed that President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso met in Paris, France, before the NNPP's presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, cast his ballot on February 25.
According to reports, the conversation mostly focused on Kwankwaso's prospective participation in the incoming administration because Tinubu intends to create a "government of national unity" that will assign specific roles to opposition groups.
The meeting was attended by Abdulmumin Jibrin, a leader of the NNPP, and Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and former director of a Tinubu Campaign Organization.
Additionally, it was revealed that Kwankwaso's wife, Salamatu, was invited to a meeting with the president-elect's wife, Oluremi Tinubu, on important issues impacting young people and women.
According to a reports, Kwankwaso had reportedly agreed to join Tinubu's administration in principle, pending talks with the relevant parties on both sides.
Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, the APC governors forum, and other party officials are anticipated to receive a briefing from Tinubu, while Kwankwaso will do the same for his own party's leadership.
Additionally, it was revealed that Tinubu pledged to mediate a resolution to the tense ties between Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Ganduje, the outgoing governor of Kano state. Tinubu voiced concern about these ties.
