EPL: MAN CITY TALENT PREVENTED BY PEP GUARDIOLA FROM JOINING REAL MADRID
Joao Cancelo will not be allowed to join Real Madrid, according to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly interested in the Portugal defender, who is presently on loan at Bayern Munich.
The highly regarded right-back was forced to go to Germany in January after falling out of favor with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
However, it appears that Thomas Tuchel, the new Bayern Munich manager, is not overly impressed with the Portuguese players' performances and does not want the team to use the €60 million buy option in his contract.
According to El Nacional, Cancelo has become a significant target for Barcelona, who want to relieve Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde of their duties at center back.
The 28-year-old's move to Real Madrid will also be advantageous given his versatility as a left-back.
The 31-year-old right defender Daniel Carvajal is up for grabs, and Los Blancos are reportedly looking for a replacement for Ferland Mendy.
According to the rumor, Guardiola will prevent Cancelo from moving to Real Madrid since he does not want to do so.
He would rather the player sign with Barcelona.
