UCL: WHAT LAMPARD TOLD US, REAL MADRID VS. CHELSEA - ENZO FERNANDEZ

Enzo Fernandez

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has revealed what caretaker manager Frank Lampard told the Blues players ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will host Chelsea in the opening leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lampard's second term at Chelsea got off to a bad start with a 1-0 loss to Wolves in the Premier League last weekend.

Chelsea have now gone three games without scoring heading into their match against Real Madrid.

Fernandez, on the other hand, revealed that Lampard advised Chelsea players to keep their heads up when they face Real Madrid in Spain.

Lampard believes that the current Chelsea players should draw on their experience of winning the European Cup in 2012 when they face Real Madrid tonight.

"Frank told us to keep our heads straight," Fernandez was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

"He told us he won the Champions League in 2012 and mentioned it was in his worst moment at Chelsea. That is a great example for us."
