DRIVERS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT WORKERS REORIENTATION

As the expression goes, "no one is the king of the road." Sensitization of drivers is essential. The Lagos State Parks and Garages (LASPG) prioritize driver sensitization in order to educate and raise awareness about the safety precautions that should be taken before, during, and after a trip.

Drivers must actively monitor everything on the road, including other vehicles. Avoiding accidents requires paying attention to pedestrians, road signs, and safety hazards.

These are some of the Dos and Dont's an active road users must pay attention to:

1. Use your cell phone for emergency situations only.

2. If you are drowsy, pull off the road.

3. The drivers should limit the number of passengers, as well as the level of activity inside the car.

4. Avoid eating, drinking of alcohol while driving.

5. Do not multitask while driving.

6. Ensure to have a complete safety box ( fire extinguisher, Jack, C-caution etc) in the vehicle.

7. Obey the traffic laws and road worthiness.
