WHO WILL WIN THE SOUL OF SURULERE, DESMOND ELLIOT OR OLUMIDE OWORU?

The die has been cast as two Nollywood actors, Desmond Elliot and The Johnsons star, Olumide Oworu, compete for the soul of Surulere Constituency 1 in the Lagos House of Assembly this morning. By all accounts, the two performers have what it takes to occupy the coveted position. Yet, in the end of the day, one person must undoubtedly triumph.

While Desmond Elliot is a familiar figure, having served in the position for the last eight years on the platform of the ruling APC, Olumide Oworu is a fiery 'Obidient' running on the Labour Party platform.

Oworu, who appears to be the favorite of many of his colleagues in the film industry, stated that he is in the race to promote the cause of youth development and wants the opportunity to make a difference.

Yet, as an old horse in the race, Desmond Elliot still has his own cloud and could surprise voters. Though he stepped out a few days ago to repent for his reckless remarks during the endsars saga, which many people still hold against him, it's anticipated that the baby face actor-turned-politician may once again enjoy the love and support of Surulere people. Whatever it is, one thing is certain: a winner must emerge at the end of today's workout. Your guess is just as valid as mine.
