FOSTER MOTHER OF NNAMDI KANU IS RELEASED BY DSS AFTER THREE MONTHS
After spending more than three months in the custody of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), Madam Ukamaka Ejezie, often known as Mama Biafra, a well-known supporter of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has regained her freedom.
On Saturday night, the elderly woman who was purportedly Nnamdi Kanu's foster mother was released from custody.
On May 18, at Kanu's final court hearing in Abuja, she was detained.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu's attorney, verified her release in a statement that Mon diaries was able to get on Sunday.
He stated: "I'm overjoyed to let you know that Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra) is once again free. She has now exited the DSS prison. We give credit to Chukwuokike Abiama for this enormous achievement.
"We won't give up; all political prisoners, including our tenacious client Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, will soon be released.
"The legal team is working nonstop to make it happen; we are not at all taking our feet off the gas. You may rest confident that we never go backwards! We shift."
She was also released unharmed, according to IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, who spoke to our correspondent on Sunday.
She is out of DSS custody, unharmed, and the children are puzzled as to why DSS would imprison an elderly woman who is meant to be their grandma.
"She was released from the DSS jail last Saturday night, and recall, they didn't take her to court because of her detention, but our attorney Ejiofor did."
