FC Midtjylland winger Aral Simsir is on the verge of becoming Trabzonspor’s record signing. The Turkish international has landed in Turkey and told local media the move was an easy choice.

  

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder’s spell at FC Midtjylland looks to be ending. Simsir touched down in Turkey on Tuesday to wrap up the final details of his transfer to Trabzonspor.

After landing, Simsir gave a short interview to Turkish media and said the move was an easy one to make. “For me, it wasn't a particularly difficult choice. After all, they’ve wanted to sign me for five years. That’s why the decision wasn't so hard for me,” Simsir told Haber61.

  

Danish and Turkish outlets report that Simsir is set to break Trabzonspor’s transfer record, with the Turkish side ready to pay €15 million for the winger.

Trabzonspor’s current record signing is attacking midfielder Ernest Muçi. The club signed him permanently from Beşiktaş for a total cost of €9.5 million - €8.5 million in transfer fee plus a €1 million loan fee. That deal set a new club record.

Simsir missed out on a spot in Turkey’s World Cup squad, but he did earn individual honors at home. He was officially named Danish Superliga Player of the Year Årets Profil for the 2025/2026 season.
