In a major upset, Napoli were held to a goalless draw by Eintracht Frankfurt at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Despite being the top team in Serie A, Napoli failed to capitalize on their chances, allowing Frankfurt to secure a valuable point.
The draw marked Frankfurt's third clean sheet in 15 games across all competitions this season. Given the circumstances, Frankfurt's defensive display was impressive, and they earned a respectable point against a strong Napoli side.
The result was a surprise, given Napoli's dominance in the Italian league and their expected superiority over Frankfurt. However, both teams will take something positive from the match, with Frankfurt's defensive solidity and Napoli's need to reassess their attacking strategy.
Frankfurt had the game's first chance when Jean-Matteo Bahoya shot straight at Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but the hosts didn't capitalize on the opportunity. The first half ended goalless, with both teams struggling to create scoring chances.
Despite dominating possession, Napoli failed to trouble Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer significantly. The German shot-stopper was called into action only twice, first smothering a Rasmus Hojlund effort and then pushing Eljif Elmas' shot to safety.

After halftime, Frankfurt's intensity picked up, and they started to create more scoring opportunities. Their first test came when Mario Gotze's header was comfortably saved by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Shortly after, Farès Chaïbi's low drive was also easily held by the Napoli goalkeeper.
The game became more evenly contested after the break, with both teams having chances to gain the upper hand. Frankfurt's next shot on target proved more challenging, with Ansgar Knauff unleashing a powerful strike that Milinkovic-Savic palmed away from goal.

Despite creating scoring chances, Napoli's Scott McTominay couldn't capitalize, hammering a shot over the crossbar from the middle of the penalty area.
The match ultimately ended in a stalemate, with both Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt settling for a 0-0 draw and finishing with four points each after four matchdays.
Eintracht Frankfurt's defensive struggles this season made their clean sheet against Napoli a welcome result for coach Dino Toppmöller, given they've conceded 31 goals in 15 games across all competitions.
Napoli, however, will be disappointed they couldn't capitalize on their home advantage, and their upcoming match against Qarabag becomes a crucial one if they want to keep their chances of automatic knockout stage qualification alive.
