Serhou Guirassy led the charge with a double, scoring in stoppage time before halftime and adding another in the 54th minute after Juan Foyth's red card. Karim Adeyemi and Daniel Svensson also contributed to the win, scoring Dortmund's third and fourth goals, respectively.
Dortmund's attacking firepower was on full display, with 13 goals scored in their last four matches, but they struggled to break through Villarreal's defense in the first half. Marcel Sabitzer's long-range drive was their only notable effort, but it was easily handled by Luiz Junior.
Villarreal, on the other hand, failed to hit the target before halftime, drawing a blank in three of their previous four UCL matches. Their struggles continued until Juan Foyth's red card in the 54th minute, which shifted the game's momentum in Dortmund's favor.
Villarreal had a few chances, but Dortmund's pressure paid off just before halftime. Thomas Partey delivered a free-kick to Pape Gueye, whose effort sailed just over the top. The hosts' pressure finally yielded a goal in stoppage time, when Daniel Svensson's corner led to Serhou Guirassy's header, giving Dortmund the lead.
The second half saw more intense action, with Tajon Buchanan's goal disallowed for offside, this time blocked by Daniel Svensson's impressive reaction. The momentum shifted when Juan Foyth handled the ball in the box, earning a penalty and red card for Villarreal. Serhou Guirassy's spot-kick was saved, but he scored from the rebound to double Dortmund's lead.

Dortmund sealed their win with a third goal just before the hour mark, courtesy of Karim Adeyemi's clever finish. Adeyemi combined with Julian Brandt to break through the Villarreal defense, and Partey's attempted clearance only helped the ball find its way into the net.
The match was all but over, but Dortmund continued to push, earning a second penalty in the final 10 minutes. Fabio Silva's effort hit the crossbar, but Daniel Svensson headed home a Pascal Gross cross in stoppage time to add a fourth. Villarreal's struggles in Germany continue, with five matches without a win.
