PSV Eindhoven Thrash PEC Zwolle 4-0 in Dominant Display
PSV Eindhoven dominated PEC Zwolle 4-0 in the Eredivisie, with Ismael Saibari and Joey Veerman scoring crucial goals.
Reigning Eredivisie champions PSV have comfortably won their second league game in a row, thumping PEC Zwolle 4-0 in a one-sided affair...
Following a tricky 1-1 draw away at Bayer Leverkusen, PSV boss was able to give Sergino Dest his first start since the derby against Ajax on September 21st.
Without any strikers available, Guus Til was given his second consecutive start in the point of attack. Couhaib Driouech and Romanian international Dennis Man occupied the wings, leaving Ivan Perisic, Paul Wanner, and Esmir Bajraktarevic on the bench.
PSV Eindhoven's match against their opponents began quietly, but they gained momentum in the first half. Ismael Saibari broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, scoring his fourth goal in as many games to give PSV the lead. Guus Til thought he had doubled the lead two minutes later, but his goal was ruled out after a VAR check for offside.
Despite the VAR decision, PSV's dominance paid off before halftime. Dennis Man, who had provided the assist for Saibari's opener, scored his first PSV goal in the 40th minute. Man calmly finished in the near corner, giving PSV a 2-0 lead heading into the break. The Romanian's goal reflected PSV's growing confidence and control over the match.

PEC Zwolle's first-half performance was far from convincing, and things took a turn for the worse when Ajax's Tristan Gooijer was sent off for a harsh tackle on Joey Veerman. However, Veerman got his revenge just four minutes later, scoring a well-taken goal after being assisted by Dennis Man. The ball was slotted comfortably into the bottom corner, leaving goalkeeper Tom de Graaf with no chance.
Without any danger from PEC's side - the home side didn't record a single attempt in the second half - PSV were free to extend their lead in the final stages of the game. Centre-half Ryan Flamingo headed in a cross from Esmir Bajraktarevic in the 92nd minute, giving PSV a dominant 4-0 win.
PSV head into the international break as the runners-up in the Eredivisie behind unbeaten Feyenoord. The Eindhoven giants host Go Ahead Eagles in their next Eredivisie game on October 18th.
Meanwhile, PEC Zwolle's woes continue as the Overijssel outfit failed to win for the fifth Eredivisie game in a row. PEC pay a visit to NAC Breda next, on Saturday, October 18th.
