Milan's Conceição Urges Team to Improve Ahead of Coppa Italia Final

AC Milan coach Sergio Conceição emphasizes the need for improvement despite a 3-1 win over Bologna, ahead of their Coppa Italia final.

AC Milan coach Sergio Conceição emphasized the need for his team to learn from their win over Bologna, cautioning that there's still room for improvement ahead of the Coppa Italia final. Despite the 3-1 victory, Conceição wasn't entirely pleased with his team's performance.

The win served as a valuable dress rehearsal for Milan's upcoming Coppa Italia final against Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Conceição urged his players to quickly address their weaknesses to ensure they're better prepared for the high-stakes match.

”From tomorrow, we will start preparing for the Coppa Italia. We have to learn from what we did and did not do, as there were negatives and positives tonight,” Concecaio told Sky Sport Italia.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli expects changes in his team's lineup for the final, acknowledging that the team that wins might not always play the best football. “I expect differences to both teams, but this is a final, sometimes the side that doesn’t play the best football ends up winning,” he said.

A Coppa Italia win would give Milan two trophies this season, following their Supercoppa victory in January. However, Pioli didn't want to speculate on whether a win would secure his future.

AC Milan manager Sergio Conceição declined to discuss his future, emphasizing that the focus should be on the upcoming final. “I am accustomed to certain things. This is not the moment to talk about me. At the right moment, I will speak,” he said.

Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano expressed frustration with his team's collapse in the final stretch of the match against Milan. The team conceded three goals in the last minutes, leading to a 3-1 defeat, and Italiano was visibly displeased with the performance.

“We were in control of the game, had chances to score a second goal, but there was a 15-minute blackout that I cannot explain,” Italiano told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was the worst 15 minutes I’d seen from my team in a long while, but otherwise we played with character and could’ve added more goals.

“We will analyse this, because on Wednesday we need a different approach from those who came off the bench, as I liked the way we started.”
