Arteta Confirms Timber and Saliba Injuries

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirms Jurrien Timber and William Saliba will miss the final game of the season due to injuries. Get the latest news on the impact for Arsenal's Premier League finish and potential lineup changes.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Jurrien Timber and William Saliba will miss the final game of the season against Southampton due to injury. Timber underwent ankle surgery, while Saliba picked up a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 1-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend. Both players will be out for a few weeks, dealing a blow to Arsenal's defensive lineup.

Timber, who has made 48 appearances this season, has been a key player for Arsenal, and his absence will be felt. Saliba, who has played more minutes than any other outfield player this season, was forced off in the first half of the Newcastle match, and Riccardo Calafiori replaced him. With both players out, Arteta will have to get creative with his lineup, possibly shifting Ben White to center-back alongside Jakub Kiwior or using Thomas Partey at right-back.

The absence of Timber and Saliba won't significantly impact Arsenal's standings, as they've already secured a Champions League spot and are likely to finish second in the Premier League. Nonetheless, Arteta will look to end the season on a high note, experimenting with his squad to gauge potential future lineups.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that two of his key players will be out for several weeks due to injuries. “William is going to be out for a few weeks, unfortunately. He pulled his hamstring against Newcastle,” Arteta revealed. This setback will force Arteta to make some adjustments to his squad.

Defender Jurrien Timber has also undergone surgery on his ankle and will be sidelined for a few weeks. “Jurrien had surgery yesterday on his ankle, so he'll be out for a few weeks as well,” Arteta told Premier League World TV. Despite these injuries, Arsenal are maintaining their focus on finishing second in the league, which would mark the third consecutive season they've achieved this feat.

Arsenal's final league match against relegated Southampton on Sunday will be a chance for the team to end the season on a high note. With William and Timber out, Arteta will need to rely on other players to step up and make an impact.
