NBA Brawl: Seven Ejected in Wild Melee Between Timberwolves and Pistons
A wild brawl broke out between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons, resulting in seven ejections and a chaotic scene at the Target Center.
A massive brawl broke out during the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, resulting in seven ejections. The chaos erupted early in the second quarter when Minnesota's Naz Reid took exception to being bumped by Detroit's Ron Holland as he drove towards the basket. Reid jabbed a finger angrily at Holland, and the two players squared up, setting off a melee that quickly escalated.
Players and coaches from both teams rushed in, and the brawl spilled into the spectator seats at courtside. The incident began with a testy duel between Reid and Holland, but it rapidly got out of hand. After a lengthy review, the referees ejected seven individuals, including four players and three coaches.
The ejected players included Detroit's Ron Holland, Isaiah Stewart, and Marcus Sasser, along with Minnesota's Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo. Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Minnesota assistant coach Pablo Prigioni were also ejected. The Timberwolves went on to win the game 123-104, led by Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle.

Donte DiVincenzo of the Timberwolves was at the center of the brawl, tumbling backwards into the seating area as players and team officials scuffled around him. The prolonged altercation lasted approximately a minute before tensions subsided, allowing the officiating crew to assess the situation and determine who was responsible.
The aftermath of the brawl saw several ejections, including Timberwolves players Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo, who appeared to have sustained large scratch marks near his neck. Pistons players Marcus Sasser, Isaiah Stewart, and Ron Holland were also ejected, along with Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Minnesota assistant coach Pablo Prigioni was also tossed from the game.
A young fan who was inadvertently caught up in the chaotic scene was later presented with a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey by Alex Rodriguez, the former MLB star and part-owner of the Timberwolves. According to US media reports, the thoughtful gesture was a kind gesture to make up for the fan's unsettling experience at courtside.
