A fire outbreak has ravaged the Radio Nigeria office in Lagos, destroying parts of the studio. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.

A devastating fire broke out at the Radio Nigeria office, located on Plot 35, Ikoyi Road, Lagos, on Wednesday, November 27. The inferno ravaged most parts of the studio, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), Margaret Adeseye, the agency received an emergency call at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27. This prompt alert enabled the fire department to respond swiftly to the crisis.

Firefighters from three Lagos-based fire stations - Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Onitolo - rapidly deployed to the scene to combat the raging blaze. Their efforts focused on containing the fire, which had spread through the studio area of the building. As of the latest update, the fire department is still working to completely control the fire and assess the full extent of the damage.

Adeseye said, “The public is assured that collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and other emergency responders, including the Nigerian Police, have brought the situation under control, confining the fire to the studio section of the U-shaped one-story building where it started.

“While the cause of the fire is yet unknown and no casualties have been reported, damping down of the fire embers continues.”

An investigation into the fire's origin is currently underway, as authorities strive to determine the cause of the blaze.
