Tinubu Accuses The University Clerk for the chicago certificate's incorrect Graduation Date, Signature, And Logo

A Chicago State University staffer has been blamed by President Bola Tinubu for the glaring flaws on a certificate that the university reprinted in his name. based on fresh court documents.

The anonymous clerk "unfortunately" made mistakes about the dates the school listed on his recently issued diploma and when he actually graduated, according to the president of Nigeria, giving "the appearance of differences."

In support of his case before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, Mr. Tinubu's statement was submitted on August 23 by his attorney. The Nigerian politician had been given until August 23 by Judge Jeffrey Gilbert to provide justification for keeping Atiku Abubakar's academic records at CSU private.

Although he had previously stated 1954 as his birth year, the president of Nigeria stated that he was born on March 29, 1952. After it was determined that the institutions he listed under oath in his 1999 campaign for Lagos governor did not exist anywhere in Nigeria, he also recently had his primary and secondary education removed from his records. Mr. Abubakar thought the documents would reveal which early and high school papers Mr. Tinubu submitted to CSU before he was permitted to enroll in the school's accounting program.

According to a U.S. law that permits papers available in the U.S. to be subpoenaed for use as evidence in a foreign court, Mr. Abubakar had filed a lawsuit to obtain Mr. Tinubu's school records.

"Unfortunately, in responding to the illegal and invalid subpoena, CSU made several errors," Mr Tinubu's attorneys said. "CSU issued a new diploma for Bola A. Tinubu, but incorrectly wrote the date of graduation as June 27, 1979."

Additionally, they claimed that the Nigerian court handling the election petitions had already finished hearing arguments and that a decision was immediately expected. The judgment is anticipated from the court on or before September 21.

The defense team for Mr. Abubakar, led by Chicago-based attorney Angela Marie Liu, is anticipated to submit a rebuttal
