BANDITS KIDNAP FOUR PEOPLE IN ZAMFARA AND DEMAND NEW NAIRA BILLS

In the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, bandits abducted four residents from the Kolo community.

According to information obtained, the abducted victims comprise a man, a woman, and two children, both of whom are thought to be orphans.

"As we were putting heads together to see how we could raise the five million naira through community effort, the terrorists sent a message on Tuesday that they would not collect old Naira notes," he lamented.

He claims that the robbers insisted that the victims of their kidnapping stay in their hideout until December 2022, when the new Naira notes will be in use.

All attempts to get the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu, to confirm the development were unsuccessful because he was unable to answer his phone.

A member of the village named Musa Ibrahim said that the robbers initially demanded N10 million as ransom before releasing the victims who had been kidnapped, but later settled for N5 million.
